The Wall Street Freaking Journal!!!

I know it's been really quiet around here lately, but trust me when I say that my quilting studio is anything but quiet right now! I'm getting ready to head back to Peoria, IL for a quick visit with my in laws and to run the inaugural Run River City Marathon! I'm really excited to get back to the midwest, even if it's only for a few days. While I'm there, I am going to deliver two custom quilts, one of which I'm still working on. I have faith that I'll get it done, but with race training and quilting that doesn't leave much time to blog!

I wanted to pop on here to share the exciting news that there is a great article in the Wall Street Journal regarding modern quilting! To read the article, search the following text in your search engine of choice:

Modern Quilters Stress Simplicity

You should come up with the WSJ link! (If you attempt to link through the WSJ website, it's a paid subscriber only article - booo!)

There's also a short slide show of quilts from Quilt Con, you can find those here. I'm super excited to share that my quilt is on slide #5! A sweet friend alerted me to the photo this morning, and I've contacted the WSJ so that they can (hopefully) include a photo credit! Either way, my quilt is on the freaking WSJ website!

Puzzle Me Not Quilt

OK, I'm off to shower after my morning run - I've been chatting with my hubby, my mom, and anyone else who will listen ever since I found out that my quilt was online! I have a few older quilts to share, I'll try to post about at least one of them before my trip next weekend!

Your response to this absolutely makes my day! I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw it there! :) And... what time is your run? As if you'd have the energy to do anything after it... but the Chicago MQG meeting is that day! :)

A blog mentioned your blog and once I found it--I went back to the very beginning and have read it all. I'm now up to date--I find it very interesting. Lots of quilts, lots of great referrals, and not too overdone in the "mommy blog" which becomes tedious. A couple of thoughts: yes, your husband needs camera lessons (!); you consistently misspell accommodate (2 m's please). Where do you live now? Why do you buy so many charm packs? It seems like an expensive way to buy fabric.
I found it hard to believe that you only have 300 followers. I read a lot of blogs--some you also mention--and although a coupe of them are by "celebrity" quilters I find you offer a lot more real content. Many blogs are mainly ads and are not really blogs at all.
Keep it up.

Slide 5? It was slide 1 when I visited! Regardless, your quilt (with its questionable critique ;) ) is now the face of modern quilting :D

Did they add the credit?? I freaked out when you posted this last weekend and *may* have shoved my iPhone with the WSJ article on it at my non-quilting friends at happy hour. Major congrats--and I hope you have your name posted there by now!
