Have you heard?

Google Reader will be extinct soon! I'm so sad to hear that, as I love to have all of my "stuff" (i.e. blog, reader, email, calendar, etc) in one place, and I'm a big fan of most google products.

A techy friend recommended The Old Reader as a replacement, and I really like it so far. It looks and operates much like google reader (which I guess is the point, ha!). You can import your subscriptions from google reader, although it does take a few more steps than some of the other readers that I've seen. Adding new subscriptions is very easy though!

I've also see bloglovin mentioned by quite a few bloggers.
If you prefer that, you can Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Let me know if you find a solution that you like more than either of these!

And in quilty news, we had some nice sunshine today, so I was able to snap pictures of a few new quilts! I'll try to find time to share them soon!

It is kind of annoying, isn't it? I like that there is at least the option of transferring the old subscriptions over, so that doesn't have to be re-done. I've gone with bloglovin because it seems to be the popular choice and so far I like it just fine. I just don't like change, that's all!!

I follow my blogs through Blogger (blogspot.com) - is this reader issue the same thing, meaning blogger will be going away in July?

As far as I know, blogger is staying (I sure hope so, I use them too!).
You might be able to still read your subscriptions through blogger, I'm just not sure.

Terrible, eh? I had my reader eaten last summer when I updated to Mountain Lion. Blast! I found Reeder, and I love that I can use it on all my gizmos, too, but it's Mac/iOS only from what I can tell, though I've been assured it will survive the lack of GoogleReader. Not sure what to do with Bloglovin… I find it so tiresome to have to keep signing up for all these different things.
