Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day! - CLOSED


Welcome! It's Giveaway Day over at Sew Mama Sew today! Hop on over to their blog to see all of the goodies that are up for grabs!

Well I am not sure. I always try tailor it to the person. I am making pillowcase a pillow some jewelry pouches and I think that is it.

I don't usually give homemade gifts except to close friends or family... But when I do, I like to give bags (makeup, totes, etc), lap quilts, and the occasional phone/electronic case.

I like to make hot pads, table toppers and, most recently, I made a set of three small wall hangings that all matched (the fabric, not the designs). The wall hangings could double as hot pads we well so they were dual purpose.

I love to make pouches! Everyone can use them and there are so many good tutorials and patterns out there for different sizes and shapes. I did make my brothers and my uncle some special pillowcases two years ago since I didn't think they'd want a pouch. Otherwise, for the guys, I've also knitted some hats.

I don't make a lot of handmade gifts although I'd like to make more. Sometimes I bake some breads- banana, pumpkin, etc. I also have a fabric origami folded check book cover that I love. Right now I am making fabric snowflake ornaments. Someone told me it is quilling??? I am using a pattern and it doesn't say what it is called other than no sew.

Let's see, drawstring bags are great easy gifts. My friends use them to hold fancy shoes or intimates when they are packing. Hanging pocket organizers are great for many purposes. Bags and purses are always appreciated. Thanks!

This year I'm making I Spy quilts for my 4 & 5 year old daughters. They love this game & I hope the quilts will keep them warm while entertaining them on the long drives we have this holiday season.

I like aprons. I have a large number of little girls in my life who are into cooking (or anything that requires pockets to hold their stuff), so that's always a good gift. And quilted coasters for the big girls. Charm packs, one big piece of backing and batting, and you can churn those babies out. Binding takes a bit.

I like earrings. They're so easy to make and customize. Also little hair clips, headbands or tissue holders can all be made out of scraps.

I made myself a scarf last month with Minky on one side and cotton on the other. I cut the cotton a little narrower so that the minky would show some on the front. It was a quick project and very cozy.

I don't sew a lot of gifts -- I mostly do quilts, and I'm not a speed quilter (full time job plus kids!), so that limits me to just a couple of sewn gifts per year. I also make pillows from time to time. Sorry - that probably doesn't give you any new ideas!
